Draw Me Europe
1988 - Before the Berlin Wall tumbled down; Florent raised 500.000 euros in public funds and private sponsorships with the help of Eurocreation, produced and directed "Draw me Europe". His first TV series, aired at 8pm daily for one month, combined for the first time computer graphics and filmed interviews.
30x3 minutes, 9 languages, 12 people crew and a two months shooting. More than fourty magazines accross Europe covered the clips. Berlin was included in the trip.
Computer graphics were created by 1500 people in 23 cities, using Atari computers and graphic tablets installed in a custom designed bus which traveled 15.000 kilometers.
The question "Draw me Europe" and a few others were asked to mainstream europeans, with the help of 55 interpreters. Fresh air, as only european specialists were invited to express themselves on tv at that time.
"We had to design special interfaces to broadcast these images as computers and television equipments were not intended to work together at that time".
